For so long I wandered alone
amid the empty rooms of my heart

nothing there to feel
 nothing there to hold
     nothing there to cherish

Finally on a clear star-filled night
through a tiny opening
left ajar in desperation

for needed love
 for desired hope
                 for the want of a future life

He walked into my rooms
of loneliness and pain...
a small sign reading 'vacancy'
held in his outstretched hand

he bowed
 he smiled
                     he looked into my eyes

Quietly he inquired...
"has the emptiness been filled?"

We stood there alone on the
dusty bare floorboards
the moonlight casting a
thin brilliance upon the
scene of our fated encounter

In a barely audible whisper...

   "no" I replied
                         maybe now I silently prayed
                breathlessly I waited

One step then two
he drew me into his arms
and with that first embrace
began the enchanting trials
of a hearts' renovation....
