Carefully I tread,
watching each measured move...
Fearful that one, slightly miscalculated,
my safety and soul, it will forever remove...

Vigilantly I scan,
never touching the brink to near...
Scared of a lingering intercourse with it,
my heart and spirit surely to be lost, I fear...

Dare I to fall,
trying to find things that just might be...
Could letting myself go be my salvation,
or just the undoing and resolute end of me...

Cautiously I muse,
my shadow caught in a moonbeam...
Slowly advancing ever nearer and closer,
how unsafe is it to play on the edge of a dream...
